You should see some of the sick plants in my yard!
What WERE 7 foot trees are piles of dead Square sticks now. The remains of Iggy, and Caleb, and Isabel are dried dead skeletons in my yard: Lest you think I have 10 green thumbs! Normally you only get to see my garden successes: But I've Killed as many as I've raised. Mostly now I grow for fun: I chew up a BIG Bundle of HUGE Leaves only rarely. My plants KNOW they are safe from me walking up to them and suddenly tearing something off of them. There is a CARPET of dead Salvia leaves lying on the ground! I love them SO Much I beg them for cuttings with tears in my eyes! But all over the Yard are dead giant Salvia Divinorum trees ... But new ones start up and grow into giants and die in their turns: It's a circle of life kind of thing! (Pay no attention to that man behind ... Errrr ... those dead trees in the side yard: the great OZ has spoken!) You ONLY See the Plants that are my best successes and you NEVER see my failures so your opinion of my gardening skills must be unrealistic! I have plants that get sick and die just like YOUR Plants do. It's just that I have VERY Bright sun conditions and plants grow Very VERY Fast: so I have a LOT of them going giant at any given time! But, no: If you lived in San Diego people would be admiring YOUR Plants Too! I'm just Lucky that I happen to live in an area that Salvia will tolerate growing in the native conditions. (It's a bit too hot and dry for this plant here.) I'm not really a good gardener: I'm just a lucky humbug who LOVES this Plant Very MUCH! -------------------- |

Your plants are so amazing.
I wish I had that kind of sunlight where I live, I wish I had more than a window to grow them in. I also wish there was more information about growing Salvia with professional lights rather than just fluorescent bulbs and sunlight Keep on gardening guys, and best of luck with your situation Sea Mac. So jealous .
I almost lost my plant! I went away for vacation and I stupidly forgot leave a reminder to water my plants . They went a whole 8 days without a drop of water. I started to freak out, came home, and they were extremely parched, you could tell by the leaves, and the plant dropped all it's smaller leaves in favour for the bigger ones. This plant is sheerly amazing. James P.S. Does anyone know if a watering device is good for salvia? I know that you leave a few days in between waterings, but if I leave, I won't have any means of watering my plants, and im sure people will forget. http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?...2280,54307&ap=2 ?? |

That will work for Small plants for a short time.
News Flash! A Couple of them got TOO big and fell over in a pile! They are OK with this and would gladly grow "Upward" in a new direction. I Am not OK with this. I must repot AGAIN! DANG! How to repot a 3 Meter/10 foot Salvia plant? AND save my back? -------------------- |

hehehe, you might be out of luck sea mac!
Yeah, it seems to be working quite well, I moved them into clay pots, big clay pots. They have 3x the original root ball space, at least. It'd be nice if they tripled in size too James |
